We then head northwest on a mixture of roads in the direction of Winchester\, turning north and running up through the Candovers and onto Lasham Airfield. DESCRIPTION:A longish EOM ride this month of around 220 miles with our ACI for Sussex – Andy Palmer.  To quote Andy – “I don’t feel I’ve had a ride unless I’ve done at least 150 miles!” \n\n\n\nRIDE DETAILS \nMeeting point: at Costa/Shell Billingshurst on the A29\, 07:45 ish for an 08:15 briefing and then departure. Shell petrol adjacent.  Costa Coffee\, Stane St\, Billingshurst RH14 9LY \nRoute detail:\nA flowing ride along the A272 to the west of Petersfield where we will leave the A272 and take in some unclassified roads (away from the average speed cameras). DESCRIPTION:For your enjoyment we have a scenic ride through some of the best roads and countryside that Sussex and Hampshire have to offer\, courtesy of Clare Thurgar.  Mainly on minor roads\, B roads and smaller A roads.  Approx 150 mi. \n\n\n\nRIDE DETAILS \nSunday April 28th at 9:45am for a pre-ride briefing\, and a departure at 10:00am.  Finishing (at a different location) at approx 16:30. \nMeeting Point Location:  Tulleys Farm\, Turners Hill Rd\, Crawley RH10 4PE \nClosest Petrol Station:  Texaco on B2036. 4 miles north of Tulleys farm. \nPre-ride coffee/tea: Available at the cafe at Tulleys.  Please arrive early enough to have any pre-ride refreshments in plenty of time before the pre-ride briefing. \nLunch stop: Comfort stop at Midhurst (note that this is a ten minute turn-around)\, with a possible refuel at Alton – 64 miles from start.  Lunch planned at The Departure Lounge – Alton\, Basingstoke road – GU34 4BH at approx 12:30. \nRide Description \nWe start our journey through the back roads of Sussex\, riding to Midhurst\, taking in some fabulous stretches of road.\nAt Midhurst we will have a brief pitstop. From here we cut across minor roads to Liss and on up to Alton.  At Alton we can re-fuel and stop for lunch.\nAfter lunch we will continue our journey northwards missing the worst of the speed restrictions before sweeping down to New Alresford.  We continue our journey south through some of the best that Hampshire has to offer in terms of roads and views\, before heading east towards Petersfield.  From Petersfield we will cut down towards Chichester to pick up the B2141. DESCRIPTION:RIDE DETAILS \nThursday 6th JULY 1:30pm meet for 1:45pm pre-ride briefing and 2pm start and Return anticipated approx 7:30pm.\nArrive earlier if you want a lunch chat\, tea or coffee etc. \nMeeting Point Location: The Butcher’s Hook Cafe\, Burwash Rd\, Heathfield TN21 8RA. \nClosest Petrol Station(s):  ESSO\, Mayfield Road (A267)\, Cross in Hand [2 miles from The Butchers’ Hook]\nPre-ride coffee/tea ?   Butchers Hook Cafe. \nMeal stop:  The Custom Cafe\, Barnhorn Road (A259)\, Bexhill-on-Sea TN39 4QR. \nRide Description:\nThe ride will be of approx 85 miles\, mostly within East Sussex and mainly on lovely country roads with a tea stop and leg stretch at the Coastguard Cafe in Fairlight.  We will aim to arrive at the Custom Cafe by about 5:30pm\, where there will be the usual daily menu plus a BBQ in the garden.  If we are lucky there may be some music.\nDepending on the amount of sunshine and music available we will stay for about an hour or so.\nThere are petrol stations en-route but I am not planning to stop\, please arrive ready fuelled with at least 120 miles of range.\nRemember if you need to stop enroute\, flag another rider in the group down to mark your position before you get fuel. \nReturn to: \nMore direct route back to the start point of approx 40 minutes for those who require it arriving\, Heathfield approx 7- 7:30pm \n\n** New and Recent members – remember please you will need to have had your Initial Assessment Ride with an Instructor to attend this and any other club riding activities \n** All members please carry your membership card on this and all club activities \n\nREGISTRATION \nThere are no restrictions on how many can join the ride\, but we ask that you please register by emailing the ride leader.  See details below. \n\nBack-Marker System\nOne of the riders will need to Back-Mark so any volunteer for this please advise the ride leader when you register for the ride.  If you have an orange Hi-Viz please bring it with you\, or one may be provided on the day\, or dependant on the size of the group an alternative marker may be agreed. \nPlease make sure you are fully conversant with the rules of the “BACK-MARKER SYSTEM“.  Following these correctly is vital to the smooth running of the day and reduces the risk of losing someone or everyone. DESCRIPTION:On offer for your pleasure courtesy of Johan Pieterse and Simon Lucas a jaunty ride into Essex to ride the New Year in. \n\n\n\nRIDE DETAILS \nThis months ride is crossing into Essex that place on that other side of the Thames\, twice in six months\, heading toward New Year hotspot of Southend. \nthe Dartford Crossing\, there is an optional pickup point at Dartford M25(A282)/A296 junction. \nMonday 2nd January   \nMeeting Point Location: \nStart Point 09:30am: McDs\, Princes Road\, Dartford DA1 1YT – map link  9:30am for briefing at 9:45am and departing at 10am. \nPre-Ride Coffee/Tea : If you would like a drink and chat then arrive early.\nClosest Petrol Station: Adjacent to McDonalds\nLunch Point: A mystery for the day \nRoute:  \nStart at the Blue Star Services at Dartford. Then across the river winding through the Essex countryside covering 70’ish miles to our lunch stop.
