SUMMARY:Wales Tour/Wizz : September 2023
DESCRIPTION:This is a tour/wizz that has become such a group favourite that we currently do it twice a year! Broadly speaking\, for 2023 we will repeat the previous successful format\, travelling to Wales on a Monday and returning on a Thursday\, with two full days exploring some of the very best roads in the UK. We deliberately choose to avoid school holidays and weekends\, so we don’t have to share with too many caravans or other traffic.  Overall we’re talking of around 1200 miles planned and organised into manageable stages. \nFor 2023 we are proposing 10-13 July and 11-14 September. \nThis event is open to all our group members\, and we do encourage Tour/Wizz newbies.  But please be aware that the overall mileage\, duration\, road conditions and weather combine to make this a challenging trip… ie: tiring but fun.. and very rewarding!  Please read the notes below and check with your instructor if you are in doubt as to the suitability of the trip. \nWe will be based in Mid West Wales\, and expect to be accommodated in the Hampton Hotel in the town of Llandindrod Wells\, as previous years. \nThe inclusive price has yet to be confirmed but will likely range from around £150 sharing to £200 single (dependant on room type) for three night’s bed\, breakfast and evening meal.  Please note that single rooms will be in short supply.  We shall be limiting Tour/Wizz numbers to a manageable maximum of 30 riders\, and if previous trips are anything to go by\, demand will greatly outstrip supply\, and spaces may have to be allocated as fairly as we can.  Pillions are welcome. \nImportant:\nWhilst our Tours/Wizzes are open to all; we do have some safety criteria that you must meet.  So before you come forward and to avoid disappointment please read our Prepare for a Tour/Wizz and ensure you are comfortable with the advice and that you meet the criteria.\nIf in any doubt then discuss with your Instructor\, Roger or myself. \nIf you would like to book a place\, or have questions\, please email me on timbenians@gmail.com. \nI will once again be aided and abetted by my two Welsh Politburo co-conspirators Roger Manning and Hugh Curran. \nIn the first instance\, please let me know the dates you want to book for\, and your sharing/single room preference. \nThanks\, Tim

SUMMARY:Isle of Man Wizz : 2023 [fully booked]
DESCRIPTION:Our first Wizz for 2023 and we kick it off in style with a visit to the Isle of Man. \nThis is open to all the membership and will be a five (5) day trip;  three (3) on the island with a day either side to travel up and back home.  Overall\, you can expect to be covering around 1300-1500 miles\, planned and organised into manageable stages in true SMART tradition. As usual we avoid the annual TT dates to miss the crowds and enjoy the amazing quiet roads and beauty of the isle. \nWe shall of course\, ride the infamous TT circuit\, at least once which is over 37 miles of superbly prepared and maintained road through every type of environment imaginable and guaranteed variety of weather conditions and temperatures all in one circuit. The Island is not just about the TT Circuit\, so we shall be using the wide variety of roads the island offers\, especially those less seen and used with all the majestic scenery the island offers.  There are some classic bike museums on the island and so we plan to be visiting at least one of these during the trip too. \n\nAccommodation as previous years\, will be with the Arrandale hotel in Douglas\, with restaurants and bars within a short walk for our evening meals.\nHotel costs are £45 ppn for Twin Sharing and £70 ppn for a Single.  Board will be B&B.  As far as rooms are concerned\, we shall endeavour to meet your room preference\, but availability may mean compromises.  The 2023 Ferry prices are currently showing £125 return departing from Liverpool and with a return to either Liverpool or Heysham. \nDates are April 30 – May 4th\, 2023 with 15 places for riders. \n\nImportant:\nWhilst our Wizzes are open to all; we do have some safety criteria that you must meet.  So before you come forward and to avoid disappointment please read our Prepare for a Wizz and ensure you are comfortable with the advice and that you meet the criteria. If in any doubt then discuss with your Instructor or me. \n  \nIf you would like more information or wish to reserve your place and join us then please contact Andrew Jupp – atwjupp@yahoo.com clearly stating your room preference.
