DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS \nOur annual Slow Riding and Machine Handling day. \nSaturday 13th June 2026  |  8am for an 8:30am Start \nMeeting Point Location:   The Hawth Centre\, Crawley \nTea/Coffee:  Available at The Hawth or bring your own \nPractise and or learn real-life skills in handling your machine at those awkward lower speeds. \nA fun and enjoyable day with real practical skills. \nSuitable for all members of SMART old and new alike.  Past years events have been very well attended and everyone gained something from the day. \nThere will be a mid morning and lunch break.  Snacks available at The Hawth or bring your own. \nIf you feel you need to brush up on your slow riding and machine handling skills then do book your place. \nIf you would like to attend this event please register by emailing Steve at  gci@southernriders.org  \n  \nnote: Toilets and refreshments are available on site. \n\n** All members please carry your membership card on this and all club activities \n\nREGISTRATION \nThere are no restrictions on how many can join this event\, but we ask that you please register by emailing the event leader.  See details below.

SUMMARY:Northern Borders Tour 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Northern Tour (Wizz)\, from 21st – 26th June 2026 inclusive\, assuming a day travelling each way.   This will give us 4 full days riding in the North of England\, comprising a day in each of the following areas: \n\nYorkshire Dale/Moors\nThe Eastern Scottish Borders and Lammermuir Hills\nDumfries and Galloway\nThe Lake District.\n\nCosts are expected to be around £80 per room per night ( x 5 nights = £400) for single occupancy B&B\, but are to be confirmed.  An extra charge for twin/double occupation of a room will apply but can be shared.  We provisionally have 11 rooms (double and twin) with the option of a few more\, if we are quick and there is sufficient interest. \nWe will require a £100 deposit to secure your place and this will be required late Jan / early Feb. \nPlease register by emailing your interest to aspalm600@gmail.com – and providing some basic information\, including: \n\nPreferred room type [Single occupancy\, Shared occupancy (twin beds)\, Shared occupancy (double bed)\, Single preferred but willing to share (twin beds)]\nBike make / model / range\n\nFull details of the tour will be provided later to those confirmed. \nIf interest is in excess of room availability then a reserve list will be created. \n*IMPORTANT* \nWhilst our Tours / Wizzes are open to all; we do have some safety criteria that you must meet.  So before you come forward and to avoid disappointment please read our Preparing for a Tour and ensure you are comfortable with the advice and that you do or will meet the criteria.  If in any doubt as to the suitability of this trip then please discuss with your Instructor or directly with me aspalm600@gmail.com . \n

DESCRIPTION:Currently a work in progress\, details to follow. \n\n\n\nRIDE DETAILS \nThe route is currently a work in progress\, details to follow. \n  \n\n** New and Recent members – remember please you will need to have had your Initial Assessment Ride with an Instructor to attend this and any other club riding activities \n** All members please carry your membership card on this and all club activities \n\nREGISTRATION \nThere are no restrictions on how many can join the ride\, but we ask that you please register by emailing the ride leader.  See details below. \n\nBack-Marker System\nOne of the riders will need to Back-Mark so any volunteer for this please advise the ride leader when you register for the ride.  If you have an orange Hi-Viz please bring it with you\, or one may be provided on the day\, or dependant on the size of the group an alternative marker may be agreed. \nPlease make sure you are fully conversant with the rules of the “BACK-MARKER SYSTEM“.  Following these correctly is vital to the smooth running of the day and reduces the risk of losing someone or everyone. Details of the BM system are on our Southernriders.org  website.   If you’re unsure on the day\, ask one of the attending Ride Leader. They will be more than happy to clarify any issues you have. \nHi-Viz\nIf you wear hi-viz\, please ensure it is not Orange as this is reserved for the ‘back-marker’ during our ride-outs.  We appreciate you may normally wear an orange hi-viz whilst riding. However\, some find it confusing when in the middle of the group to see two or more riders with the orange hi-viz.  So\, in an effort to avoid confusion and markers leaving their post prematurely ONLY the back-marker is to wear orange hi-viz.   Thank you \n\n
